Mimoco announces Star Wars USB flash drives

If you're a Star Wars fan you will like to know that Mimoco latest USB flash drives are devoted to the George Lucas saga. The company specialised in USB drives design has even created a series dedicated to Star Wars.

These creations are called mimobots and under a great design hide USB flash memory drives that can hold up to 4GB of data. They are compatible with recent versions of Microsoft and Apple operating system and some users have successfully used them with Linux.

The are Hi-Speed USB 2.0 but are also compatible with USB 1.1. These small (60 x 27 x 13mm) USB drives also have an indicator light on the tail so you can see when data is being transferred.

The Star Wars series for the moment contains two mimobots: the Darth Vader and the Chewbacca. Both will be available on January 2007 but are already available for pre-orders. This may be the best solution to buy them, because they will be shipped in limited quantities.

The Darth Vader USB flash drive will be produced only in 3,500 units while the other mimobot will only have 2,500 units up for grabs. The first 500 customers to preorder the Darth Vader drive will receive a collectable Darth Vader button on backing card.

Pricing for the Star Wars Mimobots is $79.95 for the 1GB version, $119.95 for the 2GB version and $169.95 for one that holds 4GB of data. Mimoco has also announced that they will come with several preloaded add-ons to include avatars, trailers, wallpapers and other Star Wars content.

Mimoco has also announced that other mimobots dedicated to the Star Wars series will be released in the future. There is even a contest that gives away the next mimobots to a selected few among the participants that will guess the right characters used for the next mimobots.
