Kanguru goes big with its 32GB Flash Max DriveThursday, November 02, 2006 Usually when we talk about Flash drives we think about small amount of memory but Kanguru is about to change that perception. The US company has in fact on the market a 32GB (no, that's not a typo) USB Flash Drive: the Kanguru 32GB Flash Max Drive. It supports USB 2.0 even if it is backward compatible with USB 1.1 and works with Windows, Mac and Linux (in most cases it doesn't even require a device driver). When accessed from Windows the user has also access to the KanguruShield security software. It allows the user to protect with a password the most private or important data. Besides it's included also the software necessary to safely resize and format the Flash Drive. Private partitions can be created to further protect important data. All these operations can be controlled using an easy and accessible user interface so even beginners can secure their data. This USB drive uses top grade Flash memory with a 10 year data retention. Despite being very small (25 x 92 x 15mm) and lightweight (18g) the Kanguru 32GB Flash Max Drive is resistant too. Its exterior housing is made by rugged aluminum so you do not have to worry about it when you carry the Flash drive around. Being the Kanguru 32GB Flash Max Drive a top notch USB device it is also quite pricey because it costs $1499. There is luckily also a smaller unit that can contain 16GB and costly less than half the price: $630. You can find the latter on the official Kangaru website while the former is easily findable on the Internet. Powered by dBLOGGER |
